Thoughts for Today

“He who graduates today, and stops learning tomorrow, is uneducated the day after.”
 George Herbert

“Our world is incomplete until each one of us discovers what moves us – our passion. No other person can hear our calling. We must listen and act on it for ourselves.”
     Richard J. Leider

“I have often been adrift, but I have always stayed afloat.”
     David Berry

Using Emerging Technologies

Last week’s newsletter addressed the need to evaluate your organization’s needs relevant to emerging technologies. Now let us look at a few resources that can help your organization operate more efficiently, or create a richer revenue stream for your non-profit.

Printing and Production. Whether it is producing a direct mail campaign, or simply creating some flyers for an upcoming fundraising event, there are some great resources for low-cost, high-quality printing and production. For electronic distribution you can create your flyer with Word, Publisher or another simple design program and convert it to an Adobe pdf file and send it electronically. Adobe software can be purchased at significant discounts with your 501 (c) 3 status.

Another option is to use high volume digital printers that can produce full color brochures, flyers, business cards and promotional pieces at a fraction of what your local printers charge. Many of these services have online templates and resources to help you. Two of our favorites are www.vistaprint.com and www.gotprint.com.

Integrated printing & email services. The latest trend is for organizations to insure that their branding sends a consistent message. By integrating their printing and their electronic distribution  they develop a strong marketing platform with their print and email resources.  By taking a comprehensive approach, organizations can create, test and deploy targeted campaigns through an email and direct mail management system.
